Library Automation

Click on “Read Me” to access our library!

Our Library is fully automated using L4U from Kelowna Software. There are four student search stations conveniently located in the centre of our Library.

Our Library collection consists of over 18 000 coded entries which include books, Reference Materials, Videos, Software, CDs, Math Manipulatives, and Science Supplies. Our computer lab is located adjacent to our Library, so Internet Resources are readily available to our young researchers.

We have two very active reading programs: The Bigfoot Reading Program and the Olympic Reading Program. Both were developed locally and are very inexpensive to manage. Older Students continue to add to our program by writing tests for new books that added to our collection.

As well, each school year beginning in February, our district Librarians sponsor "The Battle of the Books," a competition based on the old "Reach for the Top" Television program where students are asked questions about books they have read. The competition is very popular with students and the final event is well attended by parents of the participants from schools around School District #22 (Vernon)
